Direct Vietjet Passenger & Cargo Flights Between Vietnam and Colombo Commence Operations

 Vietjet officially launched its first-ever direct flight service connecting Vietnam’s commercial hubs directly with Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on August 18, 2026, with inaugural Flight VJ1875 connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo. Operating multiple weekly flights, the direct route significantly shortens transit times for passenger traffic and high-value air-cargo between South Asia and Southeast Asia.

The new direct belly-hold capacity provides regional trade lanes with fast freight transport options for electronics, garments, agricultural produce, and perishable items moving between Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and surrounding ASEAN markets.
