  • Sri Lanka Targets $10 Billion Export Push in H2 2026 to Achieve Full-Year $19 Billion Goal

Following a solid US$ 9 billion performance in H1 2026, the Export Development Board (EDB) confirmed that Sri Lanka must generate approximately US$ 10 billion in export earnings during the second half of the year to meet its ambitious US$ 19 billion full-year target. Achieving this requires H2 earnings to outpace H1 performance by over 11%.

EDB Chairman Mangala Wijesinghe outlined that this target aligns with the National Export Development Plan 2026–2030, which aims to lift total exports to US$ 36 billion by 2030. Key high-growth sectors targeted for rapid expansion include electronics, food and beverage processing, IT services, and contract logistics.
