National Export Development Plan 2026–2030 Positions Logistics as a Central Cross-Sector Enabler

The rollout of Sri Lanka’s National Export Development Plan (NEDP) 2026–2030 marks a defining milestone for the country’s economic roadmap. Formally approved as the official strategic framework for export growth, the plan outlines a central vision: transforming Sri Lanka into a highly competitive, knowledge-intensive, and logistics-led export hub capable of dominating regional and global markets.

Crucially, the NEDP structures its execution around Trade Logistics and Integrated Hub Operations as a vital cross-sector enabler. This means the logistics industry is no longer viewed merely as a secondary support service, but as a primary pillar of national economic strategy. Over the next five years, this framework will drive major structural modernizations, including paperless trade facilitation, streamlined trade finance, and upgraded national testing and certification labs to remove traditional bottleneck points for exporters.
