The 2030 Vision: National Export Development Plan (NEDP) Gains Momentum

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), has reported significant progress in formulating the National Export Development Plan (NEDP) for 2026–2030. This strategic framework is designed to transition the country toward a more dynamic, technology-driven export economy.

For the warehousing and logistics industry, this isn’t just a policy document—it’s a roadmap for future infrastructure demand. The NEDP emphasizes high-value manufacturing and SME integration, which will require a more decentralized and agile warehousing network across the provinces. As we build this “Modern Canvas,” the logistics sector must prepare for a more diversified cargo mix beyond traditional apparel and tea.
