Energy Lifeline: 9,500 MT Diesel Shipment Arrives to Stabilize Logistics
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has confirmed the arrival of a critical vessel carrying 9,500 metric tonnes of diesel today, April 27. Managing Director Mayura Neththikumarage stated that this shipment, along with a massive 35,000 MT petrol shipment expected before the end of the month, is part of a strategic push to stabilize the nation’s energy reserves amidst ongoing Middle East tensions.
For the logistics sector, this is more than just a delivery—it is the fuel that keeps the “Export Green Channel” alive. After weeks of tight rationing, this influx of diesel will directly support container haulage fleets and factory-to-port transport, reducing the current bottlenecks at major industrial zones. Ensuring a steady “Modern Canvas” of energy availability is essential to preventing cargo stagnation and maintaining our Q2 export momentum.
