Fueling the Future: EDB and CPC Coordinate on Priority Distribution
In a direct response to the domestic fuel pressures triggered by the ongoing regional conflict, the Export Development Board (EDB) and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) held a high-level summit today. The focus was the optimization of the “Priority Fuel Distribution Mechanism” for the export sector. With over 4,500 exporters now registered, the program is being refined to ensure that transport fleets moving apparel, tea, and rubber do not face delays at the pump.
Treating the export sector as a “Frontline National Priority” is essential for maintaining our trade credibility. Logistics providers are being urged to utilize the updated QR-based tracking system to ensure that every liter of fuel translates into uninterrupted cargo movement. At a time when energy is the world’s most valuable currency, Sri Lanka is choosing to protect its economic engine.
