  • Inter-Terminal Trucking (ITT) Commences at Colombo West Terminal

In a major operational upgrade for the “Towering Tree” of Sri Lankan maritime trade, Califolink Logistics has officially commenced Inter-Terminal Trucking (ITT) operations at the Colombo West International Terminal (CWIT). This strategic expansion is designed to enhance the fluidity of container movement across the Port of Colombo’s diverse terminals. By providing dedicated trucking solutions within the port’s restricted zone, ITT reduces the “bottleneck effect” often seen during transshipment transfers between state-owned and private terminals.

For the Sri Lankan logistics sector, this move marks a significant shift toward integrated service delivery. The introduction of ITT at CWIT—a terminal developed through a partnership involving India’s Adani Group and John Keells Holdings—supports the port’s broader goal of reaching a 15 million TEU capacity by the end of 2026. Efficient inter-terminal transfers are the “Modern Canvas” upon which Colombo’s competitiveness is built, ensuring that transshipment cargo moves seamlessly between vessels without the delays that previously plagued peak periods.
