Ford opens Dubai South distribution center.
Ford, in collaboration with DB Schenker, has opened a 41,792m² parts distribution center in Dubai South to serve markets in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Angola, and Ghana. The facility features drones for safety and inventory management, an SAP S/4HANA system for efficient operations, and stores around 100,000 parts. It also includes 20 container docks, a raised floor for flood prevention, and a fire suppression system.
Focusing on sustainability, the center plans to install a 400kW solar panel system in 2025 to cut energy costs by 35% and reduce carbon emissions by 290 tonnes annually. This expansion is part of Ford’s strategy to nearly double its parts distribution footprint in the Middle East since 2011.
