  • Sri Lanka’s exports grow in July 2024.

    Sri Lanka’s export performance in July 2024 showed positive growth, with merchandise exports reaching US$ 1,087.6 million, a 6.58% increase compared to July 2023. This rise was mainly driven by higher earnings from exports of key items such as Apparel & Textiles, Tea, Coconut-based products, Spices & Concentrates, and Seafood. Additionally, there was a 0.98% growth in exports compared to June 2024.

    Services exports also performed strongly, with an estimated value of US$ 293.26 million in July 2024, marking a 16.44% increase from the same period in the previous year. As a result, the total export value for July 2024, including both merchandise and services, amounted to US$ 1,380.84 million, reflecting an 8.53% increase compared to July 2023. This overall growth highlights the strength and diversification of Sri Lanka’s export sector.
