Sri Lanka Navy Hosts Logistics Conference 2025: Focus on Resilient Supply Chains
The Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee recently hosted the 7th edition of the “Logistics Conference 2025” on May 31, 2025. Organized by the Long Logistics Management Course (LLMC) No. 9, the conference addressed the critical theme of ‘Leveraging Adaptive Logistics in Building Resilient Supply Chains in a Volatile Global Economy.’ The event, graced by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, as Chief Guest, brought together leading professionals and academics.
Keynote speaker Professor Ravi Dissanayake from the University of Kelaniya set the stage for discussions that included seven research paper presentations and expert panel discussions. Sub-themes explored included Digital Transformation in Supply Chains, Risk Management and Crisis Response, and Sustainable Logistics Practices.
In his address, the Navy Commander underscored the vital importance of adaptive logistics, innovation, digitalization, and environmental sustainability for naval operations. He also emphasized enhanced cooperation between state and private sectors to build robust supply chains. The conference saw wide participation from academic professionals, senior Navy officials, officers from Sister Services, and foreign navies, highlighting its significance in fostering advanced logistics strategies.
